Newark Creates - Celebrating Culture, Creativity and Community!
Since 2021, Newark Creates has been lighting up the town with energy, imagination, and inspiration! Born from the High Streets Heritage Action Zone initiative, this vibrant cultural programme has transformed Newark’s high street into a hub of creativity and connection.
From immersive art experiences and community performances, to hands-on workshops and heritage celebrations, Newark Creates has helped breathe new life into our historic streets—proving that culture belongs at the heart of regeneration.
Led by the Newark Cultural Consortium—a dynamic partnership including Inspire Culture, Newark and Sherwood District Council: Heritage and Culture, Newark Heritage Forum, St Mary Magdalene Church, Newark College, and more — the programme continues to support local talent and engage the community in bold, creative ways.

Next Event - Newark Creates Art Trail
This April, Newark will host a vibrant art trail featuring a painted bench on Bridge Street, a new installation around the bin store at Newark Library, artwork outside the church, and colourful decals and stickers appearing across the town.
All pieces have been created by Newark artist Emily Cartwright, who worked with local schools for inspiration.
